Verbal cues from caregivers are an important topic that is
briefly touched on in this chapter. It is discussed in relation to
Pikler's research and is also something that caregivers can
approach differently for each gender.
Read this article by Janet Lansbury. What do you think about
these tips? Do you think this shift would be hard for you to
implement in communicating with children who are developing motor
skills? Implement these small changes in your interactions in your
lab room and discuss how you felt as you change your interactions.
