However, sometimes decisionsare reached to consider accessing and use of unproven drugs for the patients who lackother alternatives of treatment. In particular, Ebola outbreak is such a good example whereWHO convened a consultation to access the ethical implication of clinical decision-makingin the use of unregistered methods of interventions to curb the spread of the outbreak. Thepanel found it sound to use unproven interventions whose efficacy or adverse effects arenot yet known (Banerjee, 2014).Identify relevant ethical theories and moral principles.In the provision of any forms of interventions, ethical guidelines and moralprinciples should be considered. Among the issues in the ethical guidelines aretransparency included in all the aspects of care, freedom of choice, informed consent,respect the person to who treatment is administered, confidentiality, and communityinvolvement (Childress, 2013).Of concern is that a patient suffering from a fatal disease is not in their consent tomake a sound decision on whether they admit administration of unproven treatment.
