A nursing administratoris someone who is in charge of nursing activities in a healthcare setting. Therefore, nursingadministration includes guiding a team of nurses as they interact with the patients to ensure thesmooth running of services (Cherry & Jacob, 2016). As an administrator, someone can work inseveral places; including hospitals and nursing homes.There is an ever-increasing demand for healthcare professionals due to the growingdemand for healthcare services. By 2020, more than 20% of the population will be over the ageof 65 (Cherry & Jacob, 2016). This group of people will require specialized treatment care.Additionally, whenever a new health facility is established, there will be a need for nurses whowill be expected to attend to patients. Therefore, a nursing administrator will be needed tooversee the nurses.A substantial amount of health facilities have advanced excellently with the help ofnursing administrators who are responsible for creating a healthy working environment for thenurses. Moreover, they encourage teamwork among nurses (Cherry & Jacob, 2016). However, anadministrator may have difficulty in bringing the staff together since the different nurses comefrom different ethical backgrounds.
