Consider the different types of messages that we are exposed to each day. For instance, presidential debates, TV advertisements, newspaper articles, and/or items from pop culture (i.e. song lyrics, music videos, etc.). Reflect and describe an example of a fallacy or fallacies observed from a message you observed. Explain the message (i.e. give us background about the product, advertisement, debate, speech, etc.). What type of fallacy or fallacies are/were involved? How was this an example of a fallacy or fallacies? How did the use of the fallacy or fallacies influence your perception of the presenter/endorser of the message? _________________________________________________________________________ Directions All posts should be substantive, quality in nature, and detailed (i.e. include specific examples). Minimum AAU requirements are to submit: one (1) main post that fully answers each of the prompt questions in detail and at least two (2) additional substantive replies. More posts are always appreciated if they contribute to the discussion. The replies can be in response to others main posts, responses posted in others threads, responses to posts in your thread and/or additional insights that connect back to public speaking from the discussion and/or weekly chapter readings. Please make all attempts to submit your main post by Wednesday each week to allow others the opportunity to respond to your insights and ideas. All posts should be unique and novel in contribution. If someone has already connected back to one example/idea attempts should be made to to pull in another example/idea that has not already been discussed. If you have used the example in a homework assignment in a previous weeks discussion, please use a different example.
